This project began with an interview with Aurora, where I explored her personal interests and design preferences. Key themes emerged from our conversation—coffee, Lucien Kroll, minimalism, nature, and city balcony.
After I studied the coffee-making process, from start to finish,
Coffee capsules, while designed for single use, carry an inherent potential for reuse.
To bridge this gap, the project applies a circular approach by integrating the leftover capsule into a new cycle of life—supporting plant growth.
The structure of coffee capsules has built-in paper filter, which originally holds coffee grounds and allows for extraction. This existing design element became an advantage—the inner paper lining naturally retains soil while allowing proper drainage, ensuring functionality without additional waste.
The packaging design further extends this philosophy. Instead of serving as mere protection for the product, it is designed to be reconfigured into a stand, allowing for customization and interaction.
